CAREER WEEK 2007
Being an HS Student is not that good because we don't have other activities such as Community exploration, Bonus Day and Personality Day. BUT, at least we have our HS Night and Seniors have their GRAD BALL and CAREER WEEK. A non-academic week where in students stays in the auditorium to hear various people from different careers and schools.
Since I am a Senior, I had the chance to have the Career Week this year! And I tell you, it's FUN and CONFUSING!
I believe that the main goal of the program is to enlight us Senior students in the career and school we weould like to enter in. But in my case, I was more confused of what course to take and in what school to enter.
When I graduated from Elementary,
UST was my dream school and
Mass Communication was my desired course. I liked UST because I was suppose to have my Secondary Education there. But because of emotional reasons, I told my mom not to enroll me there. XD
When I was already in HS,
Ateneo became my dream school because of the influence of Mikee Lee and Chris Tiu and myself. HAHA. My dream course? It is still
Mass Communication.
When I was already in 3rd yr, I found myself loving Math. This made me visualize myself as an Engineer someday. I planned to take up
ECE or Industrial Engineering or Management Engineering. But still, a communication course is in my list of desired courses,
Organizational Communication. Where do I want to take this courses? It's in
ATENEO DE MANILA UNIVERSITY and UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES DILIMAN AND MANILA campus.
But then as this week pass by, I already want to enter
MAPUA, DLSU-M, ATENEO and still
UP. I learned that Ateneo is not really specializing in Engineering course but they specialize in Busniess courses (where Management Engineering is counted). Upon learning that MAPUA is one of the best school in my desired course which is engineering, I started liking MAPUA as my university. Ateneo still is my dream school but my dreams fell down when I knew that they are not included in the topn othcers in board exams for Engineering neither they are not given a COE or COD award by CHED in the said course. But then, I still want to be an ATENEAN one day. Enderun and Southville was also given a chance to speak in our Career Week. With this, my desire for Business course came back. I shared it with my mom and guess what? SHE SAID YES. I just can't help but laugh. 150K per sem? WTH. I'll never enter that college except if they'll grant me a scholarship. (: HAHA.
But then upon the end of the week, I finally came up with three schools and three courses.
I would like to take up Industrial Engineeing in MAPUA, Management Engineering in ADMU and Organizational Communication in UP-M. Well, I guess this will still change. What if I don't pass the ACET? WAAHHH. Oh and BTW, I'll be applying for scholarship programs.
A
MOCK INTERVIEW is part of the week. It was hled today (JULY 6, FRIDAY). And I really had FUN. We were asked to wear corporate attires and I really liked our looks. Super picture nga kami eh. And I enjoyed being interview by Ms Jen (she's the one in charge in the cubicle where I was assigned) On the other hand, those who are waiting for their turn are watching movies. Three movies were played, Night At The Museum, GRUDGE 2 and National Treeasure. All were good. Wii. I enjoyed The Grudge the most. Lots of shouting and yelling ang laughing. Sir Mike even scared me. He's frightening me while I watching the movie. I wasn't really scared but I was reall suspensed by some scenes.
To wrap it up,
CAREER WEEK is really FUN! I just hope the never ended. I still don't want to have regular classes again. :(
